Independent watchmaker, Justin James Goodwin, began his journey into the fascinating world of watchmaking in the classic, “small town” city of Quincy, Illinois. As a longtime watch enthusiast turned horologist, Mr. Goodwin made his way to Gem City College School of Horology after retirement from the U.S. Navy. Nestled in the peaceful, slow-paced Downtown District of Quincy, the college stands as a historical gem of the community. Established more than 150 years ago in 1870, the long-standing school started its matriculation during the prime of America’s Watchmaking industry. With its reputation and tradition for excellence, it is no wonder that Mr. Goodwin chose to begin his career training at this fine American institution.
