This one’s was definitely a little inspired by Where the Crawdads Sing-because if you’ve ever tried to make a quick escape through Lowcountry marsh, best of luck to you. Pluff mud once swallowed my favorite sandal when I was little and I’ve had a small vendetta against it ever since.

From the artist: Indigo & Iron is Charleston as I remember it. It’s about the details that stick with you: iron gates, roadside boiled peanuts, and the feel of the marsh air. Each piece includes three miniature oil paintings on historic Mobile Bay pottery fragments, hand-collected along the Eastern Shore and displayed in brass and glass shadow box.
