Fine Art Edition by Daniel A. Moore
On December 1, 2018, eleven months after getting benched in the College Football Playoff Championship, Jalen Hurts came full circle: same city, same stadium, same opponent, off of the same bench. With faith, character and perseverance he had stayed with the team, prepared for this moment. He took full advantage of it.
Hurts entered the game with 11:15 left, Bama hurting 28-21. Then he stunned the college football world, leading a two-touchdown comeback that saved the Tide’s season, secured Alabama’s 27th SEC Championship, and sealed its spot in the CFP playoff.
Gary Danielson spoke truly: “Last year it was Jalen huggin’ Tua. This year it is Tua huggin’ Jalen! … I don’t know if Tua’s gonna’ win the Heisman, but I do know Jalen Hurts will be a legend in Alabama Football forever after this game.”
