Decked out in orange and blue, the Orange Beach community paraded down Main Street at The Wharf to mark the end of summer and the beginning of the new school year. Orange Beach City Schools students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade turned off for the joyous annual celebration called Makos on Main on Aug. 5.

Community Spirit On Display

Students, teachers, and families show up decked out in their best Mako gear proudly sporting the school’s orange and blue colors. Sports teams paraded in their Mako jersey’s and cheerleaders of all ages chanted with pom poms waving!And of course the marching band amped up the celebration.

All Together Parading As One

The festivities were complete with a DJ spinnning tunes, kids’ activities presented by the Orange Beach Police Department, and cool sweet treats. Makos On Main is an event the town cherishes where all are welcome to celebrate school spirit and kick off the year parading down Main Street as one.
