Refresh Your Table Setting

The spring is full of many occasions to entertain friends and family from Easter to Passover to engagements to graduations and everything in between! When you’re planning your upcoming celebration, think about showcasing the best of Alabama-made on your dining table and in your home. In our travels around the state, we have discovered many Alabama-based artisans creating pottery, charcuterie boards, linens and more. Your dining table will absolutely shine with handmade pieces reflecting the amazing talent found right here in Alabama! Here are a few of our great finds—be sure to comment with your favorites!

Prodigal Pottery in Chelsea

Artisan Pasta Bowl

You will love this beautiful handmade pottery even more when you know the story of the women who make it! Prodigal Pottery “employs, equips and empowers” women fleeing homelessness, domestic abuse and sex trafficking through King’s Home, a women’s shelter outside of Birmingham, Ala.

Alabama Sawyer in Avondale

Alabama Sawyer‘s reclaimed urban wood furniture is handcrafted in its Birmingham wood shop, using locally salvaged urban hardwood, sourced from our city’s neighborhoods and small sawmills in the Southeast. Ninety percent of the materials used are sourced within a 50-mile radius of Birmingham, Ala. When trees require removal due to hazard, declining health or development, Alabama Sawyer consults with tree services to salvage them and give them a second life as unique furniture and kitchen and design accessories for homes and businesses.

Indigo’s Boutique in Decatur

Indigo’s Boutique is well known for their exquisite collection of women’s clothing but the shop also carries wonderful home decor items from serving dishes to candles to pillows.

Thomas Andrew Art in Homewood

Enliven your space with art by Thomas Andrew. Whether you chose an original piece of his art or a fine art reproduction, his artwork provides the perfect pop of color to set the mood in your home.

Crave Candles Co. in Helena

Candles are always a great idea when entertaining! Crave brings you small batch, hand-poured soy candles that look as wonderful as they smell. You will happily use one of these as the centerpiece for your table!

We hope you’ll take a moment to share with us some of your favorite finds from shops, artists and makers in the comments!
