Yellow Hammer Drink Recipe

A popular game day cocktail made famous by Gallettes, a campus bar on The Strip at The University of Alabama
Servings: 1
Course: Drinks
Cuisine: American

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 2 oz light rum
  • 1 oz amaretto liqueur
  • 4 oz orange juice
  • 7 oz pineapple juice
  • splash of grenadine
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • orange slices, maraschino cherries and fresh mint optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Add the vodka, light rum, amaretto liqueur, orange juice, and pineapple juice to the shaker.
  3. Shake the mixture well until chilled.
  4. Fill a plastic tumbler with ice. Pour the mixture over ice and add a splash of grenadine. The grenadine will sink to the bottom, creating a layered effect.
  5. Garnish with orange slices, maraschino cherries and mint leaves if you’re feeling fancy. (NOTE: Gallettes does not do this but we think it’s a nice touch)
  6. Serve immediately and yell Roll Tide!
